About the Program

Based on research directed at using forced exercise to mitigate motor symptoms related to Parkinson's, Pedaling for Parkinson's applies the optimum technique to riders on indoor stationary bicycle, both in studio and online.

Participants ride for 60 minutes, 3 times per week, following the instructor led format below:

  • 10 minute warm up at 60 RPM,

  • followed by 40 minutes at 80 to 90 RPM,

  • and a 10 minute cool down at 60 RPM.

Pedaling for Parkinson's can be rigorous exercise for some people.  Be prepared with the following:

  • a physician's approval is required

  • signed waiver is required

  • proper cycling apparel is encouraged

    • padded cycling shorts​ & comfortable shirt.  

    • clip-in shoes are encouraged but not required.

  • water bottle​

  • heart-rate monitor recommended
  • other cycling accessories may be helpful

    • portable seat pads, gloves, etc.
