RAGBRAI XXXIX from Matt Quinn on Vimeo.

RAGBRAI, The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, is an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state. Heading into its 39th year, RAGBRAI is the oldest, largest and longest bicycle touring event in the world.

For those who have done RAGBRAI, I was lucky enough to stop at a Pastafari "rest stop" and overhear some great music being played next door. Damon Dotson was gracious enough to record his song "Miles" for me behind the house where the crowd had assembled. I encourage you to buy his latest album, "Stars and Bars." Look it up on iTunes or visit http://damondotson.com/

I participated in Pedaling For Parkinsons based in Cleveland. They strive to improve the quality of life of Parkinson’s disease patients and their caregivers. They also educate patients and the general public about the benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle after a Parkinson’s diagnosis and to support research dedicated to prevention and treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Please visit http://www.pedalingforparkinsons.org/ for more information and to contribute to this great cause.

I applied some "vintage" color correction to this footage and some dust and scratches to sort of bring it together. Not only did I shoot all this footage, I also rode the entire route of RAGBRAI. I used a bike-mounted GoPro HD camera and my Canon t2i. I pulled over many, many times during the day to record stuff.
